摘要Abstract
Long-distance, large-areadetection and monitoring techniques are of great importance in modernindustries. The phased array system based on omnidirectional shear-horizontal(SH) wave transducers can realize quick scan on large plate-like structures.However, currently there are no SH wave piezoelectric transducer available. Inthis work, we proposed an omnidirectional SH wave piezoelectric transducer(OSH-PT) based on a thickness-poled piezoelectric ring on which the electric fieldis circumferentially applied, resulting in the thickness-shear (d15) mode. Boththe theoretical analysis and experimental testing indicate that this OSH-PT canexcite single-mode SH0 wave in a wide frequency range and it shows nearlyuniform sensitivity along all directions. The proposed OSH-PT may change thesituation of the guided wave based inspection technique for plate-likestructures.

Though adopting differentprobe movement speed to tested the ferromagnetic material, researched the speedof probe on the ferromagnetic material the influence of the eddy currenttesting signal. Based on the materialproperties of the composite board, is rarely used in domestic nuclear powerequipment, most is made of low alloy steel plate welding stainless steel ordirectly using stainless steel manufacturing. At present, China nuclearengineering CAP1400 demonstration project for the first time of injection boxis the domestic rolling composite steel manufacturing, and the equipmentassembly stage. The author based on the project from composite board in theprocess of producing raw material stage to the stage of equipment manufacturingnondestructive inspection related problem analysis summarized, for subsequent useof this materials, in the design of the equipment and provide reference for theestablishment of related standards.

摘要Abstract
It was possible that theinspector would miss the defect entirely that lay underneath support platebecause of the interference of the support plate signals. Analyzing thesuperposition characteristics of the defect signals closing to the supportplate, a research is carried out about the influence of the support plate onthe eddy current testing of the ferromagnetic materials. The result shows thatthe defect signal will overlap the plate signal when the distance between thedefect and the support plate is less than 10mm. Meantime there is a defect lobe appearing on the left side of the plate;when more than half of the support plate is covered defects signal, it will becomealmost completely engulfed by the plate signal. Moreover the plate signalbecomes bulky. Trough defects have a bigger influence on the electromagneticwave. Its volume affects the amplitude of the defect signal. The greater thevolume is, the larger the amplitude becomes .

摘要Abstract
Eddy current testing(ECT)signal noise of steam generator heat-exchanging tubing determines thesensitivity of inspection, so tubing noise are controlled during tubingproducing stage. Measuring methods of noise peak to peak voltage(VPP) and noiseroot meam square(RMS), noise influence factors and sources, and ratio of VPP toRMS are researched in the paper. The results indicate that rolling tubing noisemainly presenting periodity and drawn tubing noise mainly presentingrandomness, ratio of VPP to RMS is recommended to be π。Additionally, noise’influence to defects (pitting, crack, wear) signal is also researched.

摘要Abstract
In order to realize the on-line monitoring of coupling state in phasedarray ultrasonic testing, a support vector machine classification method basedon Gaussian kernel function was proposed, which improves the accuracy ofcoupling state evaluation effectively. The method mapped the original sample toanother feature space by nonlinear transformation, and constructed a separatehyperplane in this feature space to classify the samples accurately. On thebasis of this, the support vector classifier based on the Gaussian kernelfunction was constructed according to the training samples, and the testsamples were tested with the test samples. It can be seen from the results thatthe accuracy of the coupling state is up to ( ), and the on-line monitoring ofcoupling state is realized effectively.

摘要Abstract
Eddy current (EC) testingis a conventional nondestructive method, for inspecting conductive material withoutdirect contact and is widely used in many fields such as aerospace. In thismethod, the speed of EC attenuation is of great concern and is quantified byskin depth. The skin depth is usually calculated in the scenario that the testsample is of infinite thickness. In many applications, however, the thicknessof test sample is finite. This paper investigates the law of attenuation of ECexcited by pancake coil inside flat plates of finite thickness using the finiteelement method. Simulation results show that the attenuation of EC in monolayerplate of finite thickness is slower than that in conductive half space. Incompound plate, there is a jump of EC density on the interface of the upperpart and lower part of the plate. In multilayer plates, the air gap betweenadjacent layers slightly reduces the speed of EC attenuation in the upper layerand makes the amplitude of EC density in the lower layer smaller. The phenomenaare explained from physical point of view in the paper.

摘要Abstract
Eddy current testing(ECT) is known as an effective technology for inspecting surface and nearsurface defects in metallic components. It is well known that the amplitude ofeddy current (EC) decreases with increasing depth, which is referred to as skineffect. Skin depth is an important parameter that quantifies the speed ofattenuation of EC in the depth direction and is closely related to thecapability of ECT for detecting deeply hidden defects. It is found that thetraditional formula for calculating skin depth is not applicable for the casesof ECT with coils. The skin effect of EC in component with flat surface excitedby pancake coil has been investigated by the authors. The skin effect of EC incylindrical component excited by bobbin coil or encircling coil is morecomplex. This paper studies the skin effect of EC associated with these twotypes of coils. Finite element analysis shows that the attenuation of EC is notonly due to the loss of EC, but also influenced by the diffusion effect,aggregation effect, and the combined cancellation/diffusion effect of EC. Theskin depth of EC associated with bobbin coil is always smaller than thatassociated with uniform plane field excitation, whereas the skin depth of ECassociated with encircling coil can be greater than that associated withuniform plane field excitation under certain conditions.

Developed the dualcrystal lamb wave probe and automatic inspection mechanical device, multiplesets of ultrasonic probe were driven by the mechanical device into the fuelassembly clearance between the fuel rods, without dismantling the fuelassemblies. Through the study of the A-scan signal and B-scans views of fuelrods before and after the failure, the method of automatic ultrasonic detectingand data analyzing were determined. The research results show that throughautomatic inspection device for detecting the fuel assembly, by analyzing theultrasonic echo signal, can locate the failure fuel rod accurately andefficiently.

摘要Abstract
       The support vector machine can avoid the learning phenomenonin the case of small training samples, so that the generalization ability canbe maximized. In this paper, we support the problem that the SVM parameterscannot be selected adaptively. By using the global search characteristic of thegenetic algorithm, the parameters of the support vector machine are optimizedand the optimal parameters of the support vector machine are obtained. Thismethod is used to study the acoustic emission detection of gear fault, and theexperimental system is composed of PCI-2 acoustic emission system and rotarymachinery vibration fault simulation test bed. The accuracy of faultclassification is 10% higher than that before optimization, which is veryimportant for gear fault diagnosis.

       Ultrasonic testing equipment combined probe modulated pulsesgenerated on the defect resolution, not only affects the defect quantitatively,and influence the detection rate of defects, and the factors determining thepulse modulation by equipment trigger pulse frequency, probe nominal frequencydecision. It is possible that the center frequency of the pulse of the defectreflected wave is much different from that of the probe. If the center frequencyof the defect reflection pulse is not within the -6dB bandwidth of thetransmitting frequency, it will mean the defect detection. Therefore, byimproving the equipment combination probe to improve the pulse bandwidth, thedefect resolution, the device remains unchanged, will need to probe differentfrequency changing to achieve the best combination of pulse modulation, to meetthe requirements of ASME rules requirements, to meet the requirements of aspecific defect detection rate of workpiece.

       In the welding process, many factors will lead to weldingdefects which could be lack of penetration, lack of fusion, slag, gas pole andcrack. In this paper, eddy current thermography has been employed to inspectwelding defects in metal parts. Several parts were prepared which has adifferent type of welding defect in each. The experiment system was introducedfollowing the introduction of specimens. The Infra images captured with Infracamera during the test process were analyzed using Matlab to discover thetemperature characteristics of welding defects. Graphics of the temperaturedistribution of defects were presented. According to the temperature featuresof defects, the welding defects in metal parts were classified. When carried out stressanalysis of a in-service LPG spherical tank which appeared differentialsettlement based on finite element method, people always found that, the stressconcentration existed nearby the pillar fillet weld area, of which, the biggestsettling volume was the pillar 5#,and the biggest von mises equivalent stressappears in the pollar fillet weld of the pillar 5#, which went beyong the limitof the allowable strength of the material. When detected to the pillar filletweld of the spherical tank by ACFM, it was found that, there was surface crackin pillar fillet weld, which was proved by magnetic particle testing. So polishto crack area and recheck can guarantee the application safety factor of thein-service spherical tank.

Electron beam welding(abbr: EBW) is widely used in CRGT, and the depth of fusion is the priority tobe considered when judging the welds quality. The major problem here is thatthe distance between folding edge and the weld is close so regular angularsensor can hardly be used; Meanwhile, because of the tiny special dimensionaround the edge, when using the normal probe, avoiding the near area andensuring the beam vertical incidence are also difficult. This research,however, firmly combined the ultarsonic testing theory and the engineeringpractice, introducing immersed method to address the problems above. The methodis proved to be efficient and effective, and can be popularized in thethird-generation nuclear power thchnology like AP1000 and Hualong One as well.

This method utilizes Lamb wave propagationcharacteristics of signals in a bi-layer medium to measure the surfaceattachment plate thickness. Propagation of Lamb wave in bi-layer elastic ismodeled and analyzed. The two-dimensional simulation model of electromagneticultrasonic plate - scale was established. The simulation was conducted bysoftware COMSOL for simulation analysis under different boiler scale thicknesswave form curve. Through this study, the thickness of the attached material canbe judged by analyzing the characteristics of the received signal when thethickness of the surface of the plate is measured.

In this study, we took metal plate specimens with differentsizes of fatigue cracks as objects, obtained the thermal response signals ofdifferent sizes of crack specimens through orthogonal experimental design; Thenestablished the relationship between thermal response signals and crack sizesby using the linear regression model, and gave the specific parameters in thecrack detection probability model by using the maximum likelihood estimationmethod; Finally, obtained the confidence interval of detection probabilitybased on Wald method. Long-distance inspectionand monitoring of pipelines is of great importance in modern industries. Thecurrently used longitudinal wave suffered from limited inspection distance forburied pipelines. In comparison, the non-dispersive torsional wave T(0,1) ismore promising. In this work, we proposed a torsional wave transducer based onface-shear (d24) piezoelectric ring. Both theoretical analysis and experimentaltesting indicated that using 24 elements, this transducer can completelysuppress the flexural wave modes, and excite and receive the single-modetorsional wave T(0,1). The proposed torsional wave transducer is especiallysuitable for long-distance monitoring of buried pipelines due to its simpleassembly, low cost and low power.

In this paper, an eddy current method based onPCB planar coil sensor is proposed. To develop the optimal PCB planar coil, theelectromagnetic coil was simulated by electromagnetic simulation softwareMAXWELL. The sensor measurement circuit was designed by bridge method, and thesignal conditioning circuit was projected by using signal modulation anddemodulation principle. The experimental results obtained finally showed thatthe sensor had good linearity. This study provides a feasible method formicro-sensor with oil debris monitoring technology, not only shrinking thevolume of sensor, but also saving the cost of monitoring.

The progression characterisationof exposed atmospheric corrosion on metal substrates is a major problem in the?eld of corrosion science and Non-destructive evaluation (NDE). High frequencyradio frequency identification (HF RFID) sensors are attractive in diverseapplications where sensor performance is needed at a low cost and dimensionrestriction. An approach adapting commercial passive 13.56MHz RFID tags forsensing corrosion stage has been developed. The investigation includes balanceof sensing and positioning of RFID sensors for corrosion detection by analysingreal part and imaginary part of the complex impedance. With passive RFIDsensors, real part and imaginary part of complex impedance are extracted fromthe reader coil with Vector network analyser (VNA) and delivering a unique capabilityfor corrosion sensing with different atmospheric exposure time steel samples (1month, 6 months, 10 months and 12 months). The relationship between thesefeatures and corrosion exposed time has been derived which is useful forcorrosion progression measurement, early stage corrosion monitoring andprediction in industrial fields such as the marine industry.

This paper will describethe experience of inspecting steam generator tubing by applying a single passprobe that contains alternative sensor configurations utilizing independentexamination techniques where analysis is performed by automated analysissoftware. The dual pass probe contains a traditional bobbin sensor plus anarray sensor set, providing alternate techniques and alternate analysis methodsin examining the steam generator tubing. This approach provides independence andconfirmation on a single pass examination of tubing. The single pass providesbenefits in fewer man hours for the examination, lower dose received, andreduced radiation waste compared with the traditional approach where theexamination is performed using a primary examination technique for the majorityof the inspection scope followed by a second probe insertion to perform asecondary examination technique for special areas of interest or confirmationof the primary technique. In addition to the savings in man hours andaccumulated dose, further benefits are realized through the application of dualtechniques through the examination scope providing a more comprehensiveexamination of the steam generator tubing. Automated analysis is used toleverage the results between the two independent techniques to provide moreresolved answer and perform analysis at a production rate to keep pace with theacquisition of data.

Tensile and compressiveexperiments of demagnetized specimens made of Q235 steel were conducted, andmagnetic signal variation characteristics under different tensile andcompressive stresses were recorded continuously using magnetic memory on-linemonitoring system. The results show that the resultant magnetic field decreasesfirstly and then increases induced by tensile load, and tends to be stable whenapproaching and exceeding 0.3 times the yielding strength of the material,whist the resultant magnetic field induced by compressive stress declinequickly in the initial stage, and then tends to fluctuate. The J-Amagnetomechanical effect model is improved by introducing different stressdemagnetization terms caused by tensile and compressive stresses, and the simulationresults are in good agreement with the experimental data, which can be used fortheoretically explaining different mechanism induced by tensile and compressivestresses.

       Based on the logic patterns of vocational ability development,the author uses comprehensively advanced curriculum development theory bothdomestic and abroad, according to the curriculum development ways of typicaltask analyses, summary of action fields, and confirmation of study fields, andproposes modularization design of curriculum on the NDT vocational training.The result shows that modularization design of curriculum eliminates thephenomenon of separation of theory and skills, and gives attention to technicalgenerality and individual demand of the profession better. Thus the curriculumcan be expanded, extended and redeveloped and the ideas and methods ofmodularization design on higher vocational education can be applied intomodularization design of curriculum on the NDT vocational trainingsuccessfully.

摘要Abstract
       In this paper, small cracks (depth < 1 mm) initiated fromtop surface of welded butt joints are imaged and characterized using ultrasonicarray. The conventional Total Focusing Method (TFM), which allows the array tobe focused at every point in the target region in both transmission andreception, is a post-processing imaging algorithm of ultrasonic array data.However, it is challenge to size the small cracks initiated from top surfaceusing conventional Total Focusing Method, because no reflection from crackfaces nor root/tip indications is observed in the image. The reason is that theconventional Total Focusing Method imaging algorithm includes only direct raypaths between the array and image points, and only very little wave enginereaches to the small cracks near the top surface where the array located. Thispaper presents four modes of wave propagation combined into the Total FocusingMethod imaging algorithm to inspect and image the small cracks. This post-processingtechnique shows great reliability to measure the depth of the small.

There’sblind area for conventional eddy current testing with Bobbing probes in theexpanding area, so  immersion ultrasonictesting from tubes’ inside was developed. The experiment results showed that,the immersion ultrasonic testing can meet the need of inspection for expandingarea of steam generator tubes. The immersion ultrasonic inspection can be asupplement of eddy current inspection, at the same time, it can be applied inthe other Thin-wall and small diameter tubes.

摘要Abstract
       Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is one of the key parameters indigital radiography (DR), thus we should pay more attention on it. Somequestions were analyzed and discussed, which include the meaning of SNR in DRand the purpose of normalization of SNR and the relationship between SNR andcompensation principles (CP). After theory analysis, we know the detectabilityof flaws in DR is closely related with the SNR parameter in general. So,increased SNR can compensate reduced contrast from higher x-ray energy in DR,which is called CP I. Contrast in the testing result of film radiography and DRis both the product of a certain factor and the mainsubject contrast, and thefactor in DR using flat panel detector is SNR, while that in film radiographyis related with gradient-to-noise ratio. Film system in radiography testing canbe classified according to the SNR parameters (gradient-to-noise ratio), andcomputed radiography (CR) system can be classified by SNR parameter likewise.With the help of normalized SNR, the image quality in DR and film radiographycan be measured and evaluated equivalently. DR technique suffers from inherentdetector unsharpnessat present, but the unshrpness can be compensated byincreased SNR, which is called CP II. This compensation principleseems to haverelation with requirement of normalized SNR, but we should know that basicspatial resolution of a digital detector and the measured unsharpnessin thetesting are different. Besides, this compensation principle affected by manyfactors and it should be adopted with care. In the practical testing, we shouldknow the properties of the detector used and the requirement of detection ofcertain flawsthusensure that applicableprocess is adopted consequently.

       In some mainly shear wave electromagnetic acoustic transducers(EMATs) such as spiral coil EMATs, an existing longitudinal wave distorts theshear wave response and complicates the echo pattern. In order to enhance shearwave purity, the effects of an impedance matching network and a band-passfilter on the bulk wave amplitudes in the ultrasonic receiving system wereinvestigated by experiments. Subsequently, the influences of magnet dimensionsand the thickness of Si-steel backplate on shear wave purity were also studied.Results indicate that a band-pass filter and an impedance matching networkdesigned at a center frequency that is the same as the excitation current, alarger diameter and smaller thickness magnet, and a thicker Si-steel back-platecan help to improve the shear wave purity, but it is at some sacrifice of the shearwave sensitivity.

       In this paper, the principle, the basic setting and the defectanalysis of the ultrasonic testing technology of ultrasonic TOFD refiningequipment are studied. In this paper, the HS800 portable TOFD ultrasonic diffractometerwas used to detect the weld seam of different thickness of the test plate, tostudy the defect scanning image of different defect types in ultrasonic TOFDtesting. The experimental results show that the defect location andquantitative display is dominated by D, with B display as a supplement; nonparallel scan B scan is used to locate defects and defect length measurement inscanning direction, but can not achieve the highest accuracy in Flaw HeightMeasurement; parallel scan D scan can highly accurate defect get, can obtainthe width of defects and defects relative to the location of the weld defectdetection; TOFD detection rate is higher than that of conventional detectiontechnology, fast detection, defect scanning image shows a more intuitive, andcan be stored permanently, low cost.
