摘要Abstract:
In this paper, the finite element model of eddy current testing isestablished. The ratio of imaginary part and real part of impedance is taken asthe signal characteristic. The simulation results show that the signalcharacteristic and the conductivity are linearly connected with the logarithm.Accordingly, a new method based on the logarithm for measuring the conductivityof metals was advanced, and an effective measure to restrain the lift off isgiven. Finally, the correctness of the simulation results is verified byexperiments, illustrating that the linear relationship is feasible to metalconductivity detection.

摘要Abstract:
this paper builds a theoretical model for the piezoelectric material Ycut LiNbO3 substrate to open of the mechanical properties, electricalproperties parameters with acoustic characteristic. The experimental ofdispersion curve of LiNbO3 thin film was extracted by the V(f,z) analysis basedon a lens-less line focusing ultrasonic microscope. The inversion method ofhybrid particle swarm-based-simulated annealing (PS-B-SA) optimization combinedMulti-parameter Inversion of mechanical properties and electrical PerformanceParameters of LiNbO3, the objection function depend on the experimentaldispersion curve. the theoretical dispersion curve is approaching theexperimental dispersion curve by constantly modified the mechanical parametersand the electrical performance parameters of the theoretical model, the elasticconstants (C11、C12、C22、C23 、C25 、C55),piezoelectric constants (e11、e12 、e26 、e33),and dielectric constant (ε_11 、ε_12) of the specimen are determinedby the inversion of the dispersion curves. The inversed materialmulti-parameters are agreement with theoretical data, and the stability andaccuracy of inversion data is very admirable. Which provides a new technicalmethod for simultaneous measurement the mechanical properties and electricalparameters of piezoelectric materials.

摘要Abstract:
In this study, the failure of 12Cr1MoV steel used for high temperaturesuperheater tube in power station was analyzed by physical and chemicalinspecton. The gross features of failed 12Cr1MoV steel were first examined.Then chemical composition analysis, metallographic analysis, scanning electronmicroscopy, mechanical testing were used to characterize the materials. Theresults indicate that the long-term overheat accounts for the failure of the12Cr1MoV steel. The material structure changes during the long-term usage underthe environment of high temperature and high pressure, with the pearliticstructure spheroidizing completely. Creep voids appear inside the materials,which interconnect to form microcracks and lead to materials failure.

摘要Abstract:
The DR technology can be used for the detection of pressure pipes in coldstorage, but the thermal insulation layer and the medium in the cold pressurepipeline will affect the test results. Based on the DR sampling work of 20 coldstorage pressure pipelines, the sensitivity of DR detection in cold storagepressure pipeline, the geometric size measurement of defects and the geometricuncertainty are discussed. The insulation layer will lead to increase theinfluence of geometric unsharpness, leads to decreased sensitivity IQI index isnot up to the requirements of 47013.11-2015 NB/T; geometric magnification,leads to defects in deformation amplification, blackness contrast test blockmeasurement of defect height should be considered block placement and weld reinforcementeffect.

摘要Abstract:
In this work, contact resistivity between adjacent laminae, together withthe anisotropic bulk conductivity of a single-layer lamina, were measured. Themeasured values were then used in finite element (FE) models to thoroughlyinvestigate the effects of interlaminar electrical behavior on eddy currents inCFRPs. The numeri-cally simulation results showed that eddy currents are highlyconcentrated near the interface between angled laminae in the case of fiberscontact, while a steep decrease of the currents occurs in a noncontact model.The numerical results were verified by comparing the calculated voltages withthe experimental ones. It was found that the FE results considering contactresistivity are in accordance with experimental ones.

摘要Abstract:
The Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM) of Reactor Pressure Vessel is animportant part of the primary coolant boundary. The leakage of the pressureshell of CRDM will lead to the malfunction of normal start and stop or powercontrol of the nuclear reactor. During the PSI/ISI of nuclear power plant,compulsory standard inspection should be carried out at regular intervals. Thisarticle depicts the design and realization the inspection control system forCRDM which consists of high performance multi-axis motion-control card as thehardware core platform and control software development based on LabVIEWlanguage. This system solves the technical problem of high precision, fast andautomatic position and the collision preventation of marginal test. Thisinspection system has already passed proficiency testing set by the nationalnuclear security agency(NNSA) and had been used in TaiShan NPP.

摘要Abstract:
45 steel was treated to gain different hardness by different heattreatments, using optical microscope、x-ray diffractometer andultrasonic testing equipment to analyze the microstructure, microstress and thelongitudinal velocity of ultrasonic inside the material. Results show that the45 steel which is annealed has the highest velocity, while the one which iswater quenched has the lowest velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic wave. Whenthe material owns higher microstress, ultrasonic wave along longitudinaltransmits slower. Through the quantitative analysis between the hardness andthe velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic inside the 45 steel, we find thematching functions which satisfies the requirment in industry to express therelation between these variable.

Middle range ultrasonic guided wave which adopts the frequency between60KHz to 250KHz to scan the pipes under testing in circumferential directioncan achieve the B-scan digitized image. Firstly, the basic theory and digitizedmodel of ultrasonic guided wave in pipes were reviewed; then, analyzed thefeatures of ultrasonic guied wave field in pipes when loaded by partiallystress; the scanning transduser by magnetostrictive effect was designed basedon the wave field characteristics; the synthetic focusing for imaging wasapplied in received data; finally, the effect of middle range scanning usedguied wave was shown by an experimental system.

In this paper, magnetic flux leakage testing technology is adopted, sothat the friction resistance caused by the contact between the detector and therail can be eliminated. Compared with the conventional ultrasonic detectiontechnology, this method needs no additional coupling agent, and overcomes theinfluence of magnetic eddy current speed bottleneck of high speed motiondetection devices to the rail dynamic magnetic material. Based on the abovecharacteristics, the traditional 50-80Km/h detection speed is increased to200Km/h.

摘要Abstract:
In order to detect the incompletely filled weld and rosin joint in brasssolder specimen, In this paper, we use the resistance measurement method todetect this sort of defects. Object of this method were elements which brazedby wear-resistant cast iron and steel plate, Divided the specimen into grid andmeasure the resistance of each Joint. Using ultrasonic C scanning method andbinarization processing to generate scanning image. Then verified the result withmetallography verification, The result show that the location, size and shapeof the defects detected by the potentiometry are consistent with the ultrasonictest results, and the metallographic confirmation was obtained. The method maybe rapid, low cost detection of soldering defects, such parts can be directlyused for defect detection.

The laser ultrasonic nondestructive testing technology is an importanttechnology in nondestructive testing field. In recent years, laser ultrasonictechnology has got more and more wide application in the field of industrialnondestructive testing and has become a research focus in nondestructivetesting at home and abroad. This paper mainly discusses the ultrasonic signalrecognition technology based on support vector machine (SVM). By the surfacewave of a laser ultrasonic, this paper puts labels on flaw signal and noisesignal to achieve the purpose of classifying and determining defect echo signal.In this paper, by using the finite element simulation and combined with laserultrasonic signal thermoelastic effect for experiment, through wavelettransform denoising, selected as the training sample set, some as a test set,to explore the feasibility of quantitative identification of ultrasonic flaw.

摘要Abstract:
3D laser scanning technology allows capturing high precision andexceptional density three-dimensional positional information in a limitedschedule. Providing an alternative to traditional surveying and measurementmethods, this technology has been an active research area in the field ofintegrity inspection and calibration for storage tank. In this paper, existingliterature on a variety of methods and applications in storage tank wasinvestigated. Meanwhile, the limitations and restrictions inherent intraditional instruments that are most commonly applied were pointed out. Byanalyzing current research status and practice progress, some challengingproblems for further investigation in practical engineering applications wereidentified, and an outlook on related study focuses, study orientation as wellas expected future developments was discussed.

摘要Abstract:
Pipeline corrosion is hard to discovered timely for its hidden feature,so causing accidents easily. Pipeline corrosion on-line monitoring system usingultrasonic guided wave techniques can efficiently discover both internal andsurface corrosion in the pipeline, reduce the pipeline hidden safety dangers.This article based on magnetostrictive ultrasonic guided wave theory, utilizeddifferential analysis and trend analysis, proposed a monitoring algorithm whichcan identificate and extract pipeline corrosion defect features automaticallybased on noise statistics. The monitoring validation experiments on carveddefects aluminium pipes indicate this monitoring algorithm can identificate andextract pipe’s change features efficiently, and the monitoring system defectidentificated sensitivity is up to 0.3% cross sention loss ratio.

Magnetic techniques, magnetic current and magnetic methods were comparedbetween the magnetic testing standard ASME and NB/T47013.4-2015 <Nondestructive testing of pressure equipment Part 4 Magnetic testing>.Difference and Relations were analyzed in conjunction with field application.The analysis shows that the process parameters specified in 47013 is clearerthan ASME but ASEM provides more details to be considered than 47013. It has amore important significance on factual testing when deep comprehending the twostandards by comparing.

摘要Abstract:
Electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) phased arrays compose ofmultiple independent elements, the dynamic steering or focusing beam of phasedarrays can be achieved by controlling the time delay of each elementseparately. The focal length of focusing beam plays an important role indetermining the per-formance of phased arrays. The diameter of focal spot andthe directivity of focusing beam are all affected by the focal length. Acomparison between steering and focusing reveals an important feature is thatthe pressure distribution of focusing would change into that of steering whenthe distance of focal length is deter-mined to be large enough. In addition, bycomparing the radiation patterns for various focal lengths, it is learned thata short focal length is more conductive to increase the concentration of energyand improve the resolution of the acquired data. The validity of phased arraysmodel is verified by experiment and the results are in good agreements with thesimulation.

Turbine is one of the most important part in nuclear power plants, thereliability of the turbine directly relates to the safety and stable operationof nuclear power plants. The demands, the difficulty and also some considerationsof turbine weld shaft in-service inspection were introduced in this article.The SNPI developed a new automated solution for in-service turbine weld shaftinspection. New designed inspection robot and originally designed clean robothave been used in this new automated inspection solution. With the help ofphased array ultrasonic and eddy current array technology, the scanning speedand POD of inspection have been greatly improved.

This paper used the new hybrid excitation magnetization parts togetherwith the permanent magnet and electromagnetic coil, ANSYS software was adoptedto analyze the excitation source coupling based on defect leakage magneticfield distribution, had analyzed the influence of the leakage magnetic fielddistribution of defects with excitation source parameters and detection objectparameters, found the relationship between base plate thickness and saturatedampere turn. Experimental device had been set up to carry out a series ofexperimental research, and verified the correctness of limited element analysisresults by analysis of the experiment data. The research content in this papermay provide certain theoretical basis for quantitative and instrument design ontank bottom magnetic flux leakage testing based on hybrid excitation.

Because alternating current field measurement (ACFM) is not sensible tohidden defects, pulsed alternating field measurement (PACFM) method waspresented by using the low frequency pulse technique based on ACFM. By usingPACFM method, a series of surface cracks and hidden cracks in the aluminumspecimen were detected, and then respective transient response signal wasobtained and analyzed by time domain, frequency domain (Fast Fourier Transform,DFT) and time-frequency domain (Wiger-Ville Distribution, WVD) analysismethods. Through analyzing and comparing the results, WVD has more informationthan the other two methods, which not only classifies surface cracks and hiddencracks but also reflects the different hidden depths of respective hiddencracks.

摘要Abstract:
Non-Destructive evaluation (NDE) methods have been introduced into theinspection of defects in nuclear plants. In this paper, the Alternating CurrentField Measurement (ACFM) was fully applied to detect and evaluate the cracks inthe welds of the stainless steel while eddy current (ET) was used as acomparison method. Simulations were carried out on different crack lengths anddepths to reveal the relationship between the signals and dimensions and thenwere validated by the experiment. A 3-axis ACFM probe was developed and 5plates including over 30 cracks which were provided by a nuclear plant wereexamined by an automatic detection equipment. The result shows that the minimumdetectable crack length on the surface is 2mm and the maximum detectable crackdepth under surface is 1.0mm, which shows much significant signal than ET.Compared with ET, ACFM shows excellent inspection result of weld in stainlesssteel and gives a more encouraging prospect of broader application in nuclearplants.

In this paper, an electromagnetic Helmholtz-coil probe is presented todetect the oriented cracks on the surface of pipeline. The model ofHelmholtz-coil probe is built by finite element method and the detectionmechanism of inclined crack is verified. A structure with equal-spaced TMRsensor array of the Helmholtz-coil probe is applied to scan the fullcircumference of the pipeline simultaneously in a single pass. The simulationand experiment results indicate that using the combination effect of theelectric current perturbation and the magnetic flux leakage, the oriented crackcan be mapped clearly.

Because of the damaging and peeling of the coating,the corrosion and fracture and other problems ofthe service oil and gas transportation pipe were caused,a method of defect recognition of coating peelingpipe inner detection based on ultrasonic energy attenuation is proposed.The steel plate with the coating was detected bythe piezoelectric ultrasonic diagonal probe with the center frequency of 5MHzand the inclination angle of K1.Echo signal data is processedand analyzed,the results show when thetransmitter and receiver are closely fitted for detecting,the peak-to-peak value of the echo signal on thecomplete peeled coating is greater than the peak-to-peak value of the echosignal on the integrity coating,the boundary of the peeledcoating is detected,the echo signal is mutated.The maximum critical value mathod was used torecognize the defects in coating peeling pipe inner detection,which provides the basis for the defectrecognition engineering in the coating peeling pipe.

The spheroidization rate affect the properties of ductile cast iron. Inthis paper, used ultrasonic C scanning method to measure the velocity ofQT400-18 ductile cast iron sample, recorded the rigidity of different parts ofthe sample and sectioned the specific position for metallographic testing,Evaluated the metallographic photos to get the area rate and thespheroidization rate of graphite. The results show that when thespheroidization rate is in the range of 78%~86%, the percentage of graphite inthe metallographic structure is less than 6%, and the rigidity is greater thanHRB 82, the relationship between the ultrasonic velocity cL and thespheroidization rate R is: cL=4156.4+16.4r.

摘要Abstract:
An ungrounded loop source in the shallow transient electromagneticsurveys has been studied as the transmission line model for early turn-offstage, which can accurately explicate the turn-off current waveform and thewaveform inconsistency along the loop source. In this paper, considering thedifferent current waveform along the source, the Gauss-Legendre numericalintegration method was proposed to calculate the TEM response generated by theungrounded loop source for the first time. During the calculation, thepositions of the integral nodes along the source were firstly determinedaccording to the method to solve the zero points of Legendre polynomial, thenthe turn-off current of each node position was simulated by using the transferfunction of the transmission line. Finally, the total TEM response wascalculated by using the Gauss-Legendre integral formula. In addition, thecomparison and analysis between the results affected by the distributedparameters and that generated by lumped parameters used in classical theory ofthe TEM surveys were presented. It is found that the late TEM response is ingood agreement with each other and the impact of distributed parameters isdominant in early response stage. Therefore, the early TEM response differsfrom that predicted by the classical theory of the TEM surveys and theinfluence of the distributed parameters must be taken into account for theearly response processing in shallow TEM surveys.

Due to the multi-mode characteristics and dispersion characteristics ofLamb wave, it is necessary to select a single Lamb wave mode to detect thedefect. In this paper, the finite element approach is proposed to excite asingle Lamb wave mode. Firstly, we discuss the changing trends of the groupvelocity, phase velocity and displacement amplitudes of the different modes toselect the best excitation frequency. Then, when the best excitation frequency,we study the effect to the multi-mode characteristics by changing the directionof Lorentz force. Simulating the particle displacement amplitude, themulti-mode characteristics and dispersion characteristics of Lamb wave, theresults show that the single Lamb wave mode is selected by changing thedirection of Lorentz force.

"Checking wind turbines for damage is a common problem for operatorsof wind parks, as regular inspections are legally required in many countriesand prevention is economically viable. While some of the common forms of damageare easily visible on the surface, structural problems can remain invisible foryears they eventually result in catastrophic failure of a rotor blade. Commonforms of testing fibre composite parts like ultrasonic testing or x-ray testsare impractical due to the large dimensions of wind turbine components and theirlimited accessibility for any short-range methods.
Active thermographic inspection of wind turbines is a promising approachto testing for structural flaws beneath the surface of rotor blades. As part ofan ongoing research project, a simple setup for testing the general viabilityof this method was built and used to compare different thermographic cameras. Asample cut from a discarded rotor blade was modified to emulate structuraldamage. The results are promising for the development of a cost effectiveon-site testing system."

"An adaptive-data-prediction-based (ADPB) ultrasound receiver isinvestigated and developed to achieve a wide dynamic range (DR) and highsignal-to-noise ratio (SNR) ultrasound imaging without no extra power penalty.In order to guarantee both high resolution and power-efficient operation, adigital linear predictor is introduced to the ultra-sound receiver, whichsignificantly enhances the resolution and eliminates the power hungry circuitsin traditional receiver. Meanwhile, with digital assisted signal processing,performance pressure on key analog modules including analog-to-digitalconverters are relaxed, resulting in even lower power consumption. In addition,to enable real-time digital signal processing, least-mean-square (LMS)algorithm is introduced to optimize the speed and imaging resolutionadaptively.
The proposed system prototype has been implemented on a FPGA-basedhardware platform. The measurement results show that with the employment of a10-bit ADC, the proposed imaging system achieves 80-dB SNR, which is equivalentto a state-of-art 16-bits ADC. More importantly, the elimination of TGC and theemployment of low resolution ADC reduce the total power of the imaging receiverby 2-3 orders. The proposed digital assisted structure significantly improvesthe SNR and dynamic range of the system."
